2011 Golf Day Wrap-up

The sun was shining for our 27th Annual Charity Golf day at Pymble this week. Over 100 golfers took on the challenge for the trophy and the Prime Advisory Group team of Guy Wall, Warwick Dawson, Warren Green & Tony Newcombe were victorious with a score of 60 net 54 3/8 in a close fought affair from Pacific Boating and Challenger.

The Priority Planners team of Michael MacQuillan, Ben Williams, Chris Mackenzie and Sam Newbrun won the trophy for the best scratch score with 61 (-11) from Prime Advisory Group 60 (you can’t win both trophies) and Pacific Boating 62.

There were prizes for Long Drive and Nearest the Pin which were won by Nan Quayle, Guy Wall, Cherri Southerton, Mario Zappia, Jon Greathead, Graham Evans, Tony Preston, Gerard Bailey and Guy Wall again.

While the Bradman’s prize was won by an all girl team of tomorrow’s superstars with a score of 84 net 67 6/8.

The Gala Dinner was attended by over 160 guests and compered by our MC Luke Elvy who did a wonderful job. Our Guest Speaker Peter FitzSimons duly entertained our guests with his football and WW2 history stories. And our Auctioneer Michael Forsyth worked overtime on the Live Auction to extract winning bids from an audience that seemed reluctant to spend lavishly on some fabulous auction items. However, all in all, we managed to achieve a record result with over $60,000 raised for Lifeline and Rotary benevolent projects.

We would like to extend a big Rotary thank you to all our wonderful sponsors and donors, players and guests and volunteers for helping to make the day another financial success for Lifeline and Rotary, especially Pacific Boating, ICE Cargo, Abbott Laboratories, Radio 2UE, Priority Planners, Challenger, North Shore Chiropractic, axia office, Style Finish, Guardian Funerals, The Prime Advisory Group and Snap Printing.

And a special thanks to the Lifeline crew of Wendy, Emma, George, Bob and Cherri who all did a fantastic job.
